The current scenario
It is perhaps ironical that the project that led to this discovery could
also prove to be the downfall of the site. Although the excavation has
disrupted the mall development project somewhat, the developers are now
trying to push for continued development of the mall while allowing a
small concession of a 10 feet buffer to the site.

JMA is terribly under resourced to be able to commit fully to this extremely
historical find. And until we prove the validity and the historical significance
of the site, we do not have just cause for the State Government to halt
the constructions. This may have serious consequences to the site not
to mention the possible destruction of any further structure that may
be underground.
We need your help
As much of the origins and style of the structure is still a mystery,
we would appreciate expert guidance in determining the origin and possible
way forward. Those who may be able to help should contact Elizabeth Cardosa,
Executive Director of Badan Warisan Malaysia at heritage@badanwarisan.org.my
