1) MSMP Measured Drawings Grant 2010/2011

Badan Warisan Malaysia is pleased to announce the launch the next cycle of the MSMP Measured Drawings Grant 2010. The Grant was introduced in 2007 as an extension of the Mubin Sheppard Memorial Prize to encourage measured drawing projects of heritage buildings which are endangered or in remote locations by institution.

Recommendation of Heritage Buildings to be documented:
In conjunction with this grant scheme, we are seeking recommendations of heritage buildings which are endangered or in remote locations to be documented from the PUBLIC. Our priority is heritage buildings which have yet to be measured or documented comprehensively.
If you have any suggestions, please e-mail them to intan@badanwarisan.org.my or fax the Secretariat at 03 - 2145 7884. Please indicate "MSMP MDG site suggestions" on the subject line. All proposals must include:
- the sender's full contact details
- the building's / site's name, location and description
- any supporting photographs
- the reasons for the proposal - please indicate the cultural significance of the building, architectural values etc.
2) [NEW] Chen Voon Fee Research Grant 2010/2011
DEADLINE:
- Research Project:
- 30 November 2010 for projects which will be completed by 30 June 2011
- 30 April 2011 for projects which will be completed by 31 December 2011
- Conference Travel: Minimum 3 months before
BWM invites entries for Chen Voon Fee Research Grant (CVFRG) which supports research and writing to advance our understanding of the architectural heritage in Malaysia. The CVFRG has been establish in honour of the late Ar. Chen Voon Fee (1931-2008) to mark his enormous contribution to the development and promotion of architectural conservation and heritage preservation in Malaysia.
Applications invited from researchers of the following subjects:
- Architecture
- Built environment
- Architectural history
- Urban design and planning
- other arts that are immediately contributive to the built heritage, or
- Local oral histories, cultural mapping initiatives related to the built heritage
Grants are also available for travel for Conference if you are a presenter.

3) Mubin Sheppard Memorial Prize (MSMP) 2010 - Cycle 9
Submission Deadline: 5.00 p.m. Friday 30 November 2010
Badan Warisan Malaysia (BWM) once again invites entries for the Mubin Sheppard Memorial Prize. This is the 9th Cycle of the award and over the years we have presented nearly 30 prizes from nearly 120 submissions received.
This competition is one of our efforts to stimulate students' awareness of, and research into, the conservation of Malaysia’s built heritage. The MSMP is one of our core education and awareness raising programmes.
