National Heritage Register 2009 14 February 2009

The Minister of Unity, Culture, Arts, and Heritage declared 173 items as National Heritage in a ceremony held at the Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur.
At the ceremony, the Minister in his speech said that “the declaration is to create awareness in society on the importance of preserving the national heritage to be appreciated by the next generation.”
The Ministry's list is as follows:

- UPSI - Suluh Budiman Building, Tanjung Malim
- Kuil Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi, Melaka
- Masjid Kampung Kling, Melaka
- Muzium Perak, Taiping
- Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur
- University Malaya - Dewan Tunku Canselor, Experimental Theatre & Chancellory Building, Kuala Lumpur
- Stadhuys, Melaka
- Christ Church, Melaka
- Istana Lama Seri Menanti, Kuala Pilah
- Masjid Jamek, Kuala Lumpur
- Masjid Kampung Hulu, Melaka
- Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur
Archaelogical Sites:
- Bukit Jawa, Lenggong, Perak
- Gua Gunung Runtuh, Bukit Kepala Gajah, Perak
