Bazaar Chic: Vanidah Imran to help man Bazaar Stall 16 September 2008
Actress Vanidah Imran will be helping to man a stall at Bazaar Chic from 11.30am to 1.00pm on Saturday 20 September 2008.
Bazaar Chic is a bazaar with a difference, selling paintings, jewellery, ‘pre-loved designer-wear’, exotica, old maps, antiques, gifts, fabrics and more. The bazaar will run from 10am to 4pm at Badan Warisan’s Heritage Centre at 2 Jalan Stonor, 50450, Kuala Lumpur and everyone is welcome.
Organised by Badan Warisan Malaysia, the bazaar is raising sorely-needed funds to help Badan Warisan in its ongoing work of heritage conservation.
Comments Vanidah, “Our heritage isn’t just about museums and monuments. It’s what lives in our hearts. It’s about the communities we come from, the customs we practice, the festivals we celebrate. For me, heritage is a very personal thing and has a lot to do with special places like the pre-war shop houses in Penang and my old school. All these are my heritage.”
“As a Penangite, I’m immensely proud that George Town, together with Melaka, has recently been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. It’s amazing to think that this puts us on the same level as other World Heritage Sites like Venice, Stonehenge and the Great Wall of China. I just hope and pray that the people responsible for managing George Town and Melaka will act fast to maintain their authenticity”.
“As a proud member of Badan Warisan Malaysia, I’m delighted to be doing my bit today to help save Malaysia’s vanishing heritage.”
